David and Penny

David and Penny are the co-owners of City Printing and Design having taken over ownership and management in June 2002.

David has a broad knowledge of all aspects of the printing industry with over 31 years experience behind him as both employee and business owner. He loves the industry and has an avid interest in keeping up with the changing technologies on offer. Being an innovative thinker, David is able to formulate new ideas to enhance quality while reducing costs where possible and is always prepared to go ‘the extra mile’ to ensure satisfaction and delivery of customer’s requirements.

Penny has a background in the graphics industry having started out as a typesetter and finishing artist twenty years ago. With current technology having made the finishing artist obsolete, Penny has taken on the role of book keeper, managing accounts payable and receivable with the odd bit of customer service and graphics knowledge thrown in.

Janelle

Is our office whiz, being our client’s first point of contact. Over the twelve years with City Printing and Design Janelle has developed quite a few skills in the printing industry covering finishing, bindery and guillotining. Her role as job estimator for the last two years has given Janelle the opportunity to show her zeal in customer service, offering all manner of up to the minute advice, quoting and job status.

Phillip

Has an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design and has been providing excellent illustration and design ideas as a staff member at City Printing and Design for over two years.

He’s a dab hand at advice on press quality of artwork, problem solving and offering one on one general design assistance to our clients. Phillip has also been managing our new digital printing department, which is a new & exciting direction we at City Printing and Design are investing in.

Beck

Joined City Printing and Design four years ago as a bench hand. Having shown a real flair for print and an interest in furthering her expertise, Beck now co-ordinates running our two colour press with our head printer. Notching up this skill has given Beck more of an insight into the daily running of our Printroom from the ordering of press supplies to the producing and despatching of jobs with delivery times being emailed through to our clients.

Steve

Is our printing guru and has been with City Printing and Design for the last eight months. Although his employ has been short, Steve and David go back to the year dot. Steve is a printer from the old school with a very high regard to print quality and workmanship.

He manages the Printroom with great humour and a load of efficiency.

‘Jacks of all Trades’

Lewis, Griffin & Carrick collectively, have been with City Printing and Design on a part time basis for over four years, working as storemen in the Printroom. They are our bench hands who collate, finish, bind, fold and guillotine along with keeping the Printroom tidy as required. On completion of print jobs, they work with Beck in organising couriers for despatching to our clients.

Claire

Is our Marketing Manager and although being new to the printing industry, has a world of experience to offer in sales, promotional organisation and customer service.

She has been working as David’s right hand person helping develop new and exciting marketing strategies for the ever changing expectations of our clientele.
